Farmhouse, now house. Probably a late C15 or early C16 hall-house, with ceiling and chimney stack inserted in C17. Timber frame with brick casing at ground floor and nogging above (some in herringbone pattern); red tile roof, brick chimney stack. Linear 5-bay single-depth plan (the 1st bay perhaps an early addition). Two low storeys and 5 structural bays but with only 3 windows at 1st floor; the timber-framing at the front consists of all 6 wall-posts (concealed or removed at ground floor), with arch-bracing to the wallplate in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th bays, and various studs; the 4th bay contains 2 board doors; at ground floor the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th bays have 2-light casement windows (that in the 3rd bay altered), and at 1st floor the 1st bay has a 2-light casement, the 2nd bay has coupled 2-light casements (divided by a stud), and the 3rd bay has a 3-light casement, all these windows being under the eaves. The roof is hipped at the right-hand end, half-hipped at the left end, and has a ridge chimney stack in the 4th bay. The left end wall has inter alia a door at ground floor and 3 queen struts to the half-hip. At the rear the timber framing is exposed on both floors, less regular than the front, and includes 2 full-height wall-posts to the 2nd bay, and various rails and studs; the 1st bay has a 3-light casement, the 2nd has a very small 6-pane fixed window under the eaves, the 4th has a fixed window, and the 5th is covered by a lean-to addition.
