and barn adjoining

Farmhouse and barn, circa 1700. Large coursed squared sandstone on
plinth; pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers, brick stacks.
Each part 1½ storeys, 2 bays. House entrance in recently-built
front extension which is not of special interest. Yorkshire sashes
on ground floor, that on right in chamfered surround; double-hung
sash at first floor right. 2 boarded doors at barn. Steeply-pitched
roofs. Chimneys on ridge and at right end of house. Left return
shows 1 modern and 1 C19 casement.
Interior: old beams of stout scantling and parallel stout joists.
Good pair of upper crucks, resting on tie beam of ground floor,
have top collar supporting through-purlins and short king-post with
ridge piece. Chamfered purlins. Lower collar taken away in centre
to give headroom.
