1/26 Stone House

GV II

House. Late C18 with C19 additions. Colourwashed rubblestone walls with brick
dressings. Roof partly graded Swithland slate and partly C20 slate. 2 brick
gable stacks and coped gables. Dentilled brick cornice. East front: 2 storeys,
3 bays. Central doorway with pilastered doorcase, dentilled cornice, sloping hood
and 6-panel door, flanked by single glazing bar sashes with cambered arches.
Above, 2 similar windows. All windows have C19 sashes. To right, a lower C19
single bay addition in painted brick with slate roof. Ground storey has a 2-light
sliding sash with cambered arch. Above, 2 small C20 casements.
