Walls of walled garden now partly occupied by tennis court Lower part
narrow C16 or early C17 red brick in English-bond. Upper part in C18 red
brick in Flemish-bond. Trapezoidal enclosure with walls about 3m high,
and about 60m x 45m on plan, entered off-centre on S by a small gateway.
Wall 13 1/2 inch thick at gate, chamfered scarcement outside at lm from top
of wall, and outer surface of wall cased in Flemish-bond brickwork. (VCH
(1908)205-1).
