House, sometime The Bell PH, now Post Office. C17, front
Gothicised by brewers 1874. Timber frame roughcast on stucco
plinth. Plastering lined as ashlar under porch. Steep old red
tile roof with large central dormer rising flush with front. 2
storeys, cellar and attics. 2-unit plan with rear lateral
chimney to left part and external gable chimney to right hand
part. Symmetrical 3-windows front with criss-cross applied
timbering. Dormer and 3 upper windows have 2-light flush
casements with moulded label ending in small bells. 3-light
casements with similar labels to ground floor flanking a large
gabled open timber gothick porch with cusped openings, benches
and wooden bell set on cambered collar at front with date '1874'.
Ceased being a PH c1926.
