Former Temperance Hall. Formerly a Methodist Chapel, then used as the earliest cinema, with the projection box in situ at time of survey, and original camera now in Beck Isle Museum. Early C19. Two storeys in stone. Gable end has scrolled pediment terminals. Carved circular window above string. Two windows, hung sashes with glazing bars, keystone. Ground floor has one window, hung sashes with glazing bars, keystone. Doorway with tall rectangular fanlight below keystone. Double door of four panels. Bridge Street elevation has three windows, of which one is covered by a hoist cover and the other two are hung sashes with glazing bars and keystones to lintels. Ground floor has two windows, one replaced by a plain shop window. Panelled inset door, with rectangular fanlight and keystone. Later one-storey outbuildings to side. Undergoing alteration at time of survey (August 1974).

Nos 1 and 2 and premises formerly occupied by John Hague form a group with the Rose Inn, Nos 5 to 8 (consec) and the Masonic Hall.
