House. Probably late C17. Timber-frame clad in Flemish bond
red brick on ground floor and C20 pargetted render on first
floor. Plain tile roof with gabled ends. Brick axial stack and
brick gable end stack to rear wing. PLAN: 2-room plan front
range with lobby entrance in front of axial stack; the large
left hand room was possibly originally 2 rooms. To right of
centre kitchen rear wing with a gable end stack and outshut on
left N side. Elevation: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window west
front with small C20 2-light casements and gabled brick porch
to right of centre with plank door. At rear (E) one storey and
attic, with large brick stack in gable end, gabled dormer on S
side and catslide roof over outshut on N side. C20
conservatory on N end on main range.
INTERIOR: large left (N) room has unchamfered intersecting
axial and cross-beams and unchamfered joists, large brick
fireplace light chamfered timber lintel, possibly with timber
frame stack above; exposed posts and girts, 2 and a half bay
rear wing with brick stack in half bay with large fireplace
with chamfered timber lintel; large unchamfered cross-beam,
chamfered axial beam and exposed unchamfered joists. On first
floor exposed wall-plate with face-halved scarf, wall studs
and ceiling beams. Roof ceiled.
