GV II

House with ground floor shops. C18 and probably earlier with
C20 additions. Timber-framed and plastered, red brick, C20
clay tiled roof. U shaped plan. 2 storeys. Front S elevation:
4 window range, 2 flush bays, alternating with 2 canted bays
to first and second floors. Ground floor, 2 shops, all now of
C20 work, plate glass windows and doors. All first and second
floor windows sashes with glazing bars to upper sashes, lower
sash in each window plain. First floor flush windows have
wooden pediments over frieze, upper sashes 3x2 panes. Second
floor windows similar but cornice and pulvinated frieze. Bay
windows, first and second floor similar with central arched
glazing with radial glazing bars, side cants, upper sashes 2x2
panes, bay cants tile-hung between windows. Central ridge
stack. Rear N elevation: C20 rendered. Street range has 4
second floor C20 2-light casement windows. Plain flat roofed
C20 brick extension at E and W ends with central link between,
above, C20 plain casement windows. RCHM states building said
to be dated 1633.
