Terraced houses. c.1789. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond,
stucco, roof obscured by parapet. Three and four storeys over
basement, no 17 has six windows, nos 18-20 four each, nos
21-22 two each. Steps up to round-arched entrance; no 17 has
cornice and panelled door of original design; no 18 has a
superimposed prostyle Doric porch with mutule cornice; nos
19-20 have slim fluted columns supporting a fluted cornice and
decorative fanlight, with panelled door of original design to
no 20; nos 21-22 have pilasters in reveals and Roman Doric
columns supporting entablature with mutule cornice, decorative
fanlight and panelled door of original design. All windows
flat-arched with gauged brick heads, those to the first floor
set in round-arched recesses with gauged brick heads; stucco
sill band to first floor windows, iron balconies to nos 17-18
and 22; 6/6 sashes of original design to first floors of nos
17 and 19, and to no 22. Second-floor windows of nos 21-2 less
deep than the rest. Cornice of brick and moulded stucco to nos
17-20, brick frieze in emulation of triglyphs with moulded
stucco cornice to nos 21-22; parapet; two dormers to no 18,
stacks to party walls. Area railings with urn standards and
spike finials to nos 17-20 and overthrows to nos 19 and 20;
urn standards and arrowhead finials to nos 21-22.
