House in terrace, subsequently a hotel, now flats. c1840,
altered with additions on north front 1899. Stucco over brick,
bitumen covered mansard roof, roughcast stacks. Plan:
originally the east end of Courtenay Terrace, now centre, with
2-bay entrance addition on north front to link the adjoining
Courtenayside (qv). South front: 4 storeys plus attic, 3: 2
bays, moulded cornice and strings, moulded surrounds to sash
windows with mixed glazing bar patterns; renewed first floor
continous canopy with balustrade, French casement windows,
mixed fenestration to ground floor. North elevation L-plan,
2:2 bays, shaped gable dormer, entrance in corner projection
surmounted by oriel with belevedere carried on columns with
ogee-shaped roof, ornate late C19 panelled double doors.
