House including rear outbuilding wing and attached mounting block. Early C19. Coursed squared sandstone and some brick, slate roof. U-plan formed by double-depth 3-bay front range with 2 rear wings. Two storeys and attic, 3 bays, in Classical style, symmetrical; rendered at ground floor; central round-headed doorway, panelled double doors, fanlight with radiating glazing bars, and pedimented architrave; two 12-pane sashes at ground floor and 3 above, all with raised sills; moulded cornice and low blocking course; coped gables and gable chimneys. Left gable wall has one sashed window on each floor and a round-headed attic window; wing continued to rear has a 4-step mounting block attached, and a through-passage to the rear yard, with wrought-iron gate at inner end; this wing contains privy, stable, and lst- floor granary with doorway in rear gable wall approached by external steps. Between the wings an exceptionally large full-height round-headed stair window with glazing bars. Interior: fine doglegged staircase with open string, scrolled brackets, 2 slender balusters per tread, and ramped handrail with wreathed curtail; former kitchen in east wing, with iron bread oven; cellars with stone curing tables (etc.).
