Boundary walls, portico, piers and gates, flanking A48 and returning at north end
of house. Rusticated limestone to portico, sandstone rubble to flat sandstone
coping, squared sandstone piers, iron gates. Wall to road c3 metres high with,
opposite entrance to Stroat House (qv) a wide Doric portico to flat topped
entablature and rusticated pilasters, the centre filled with stonework and contain-
ing a normal plank door under voussoirs. The boundary wall returns in a quadrant,
left, to pair of piers with square ogee cappings and pair of iron gates, beyond
this the wall less high and no coping. To the right the wall continues to a pair
of square sandstone piers with flat capping over moulding with C20 wood gates
opposite the entry to coach house (qv). These walls important to the ensemble by
a busy main road.
