Bank. Dated 1896, Architects Messrs. Wood and Kendrick, with early C20 addition to Coventry Street. Red brick, with buff terracotta dressings. Slate roof hidden by parapets; no stacks visible. L-plan on corner site. Elaborate Free Style. Three storeys; three-window range to each street, and canted corner. Moulded plinth throughout. Corner has moulded 10-panelled double-leaf doors, with fanlight obscured by late C20 sign. Elaborately moulded round arch with dentil cornice and bosses; spandrels have cartouches with date. Angles have slender shafts from springing of arch to second floor. Half-length putto and foliage spring from ornamented keyblock and support shallow curved balcony with cartouche and leaf and scrollwork. Basket-arched tripartite window has transom and glazing bars to upper lights. Arch has spandrels with decorated roundels and leaf work. Strongly-moulded string course. Second floor has paired round-arched plate glass sashes with ornamented shafts, moulded arches and decorated keyblocks. At springing of arches angles have leaf corbels and half-octagonal wall shafts. Elaborate parapet has dentil, modillion and moulded cornices.

Fronts to Bridge and Coventry Streets are similar to corner, but a little simpler. Ground floor has banded rustication and segmental-arched wood cross windows with Ionic half-column mullion and ornamented arches. First bay on left to Bridge Street has late C20 glazed door inserted. Addition on right is lower and plainer. Three storeys; four-window range. Eight-panelled door on right has decorated doorcase with pilasters, festoons, scrolled pediment and central panel with cartouche. Ground floor has two cross windows and single light on left. First floor has tripartite windows with blind tympana, and segmental-arched single light. Second floor has plate glass sashes.
