Description


TR 03 NE SMEETH LILY VALE (south side) 4/130 Barn adjoining Lily Vale Farmhouse to the north-west GV II Barn. Mid C16, clad C18. Timber framed and clad with red brick, with weather boarded return elevations and with plain tiled roof. Roof half-hipped to left and hipped to right with outshot, with half-doors to left and to right, and central hipped midstrey. Interior: 4 bays with aisles, with deeply curved quadrant bracing in lower aisle and straight quadrant bracing in upper aisle. Heavily concave arch bracing to main ties, eccentrically framed. Staggered purlin roof with (inserted?) queen struts.
