5/256 The White Cottage

GV II

Detached cottage. Late C17. Painted rubble stone, thatched roof
with half-hip to left and coped verge with stone and brick stack to
right. Single storey and attic. Planked door in C20 porch to left
of centre, 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to left
and 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to right. Attic
has eyebrow dormer with 3-light leaded casement to right. Left
return has C20 lean-to extension, casements to first floor. Right
return has C19 single-storey extension and C20 mullioned casement.
Rear has 2-light casements. Interior not accessible at time of
survey (January 1986).
