Cottage. Early to mid C18. Timber frame with brick infill and brick; roughcast render. Hipped
roof thatch surviving under corrugated metal roof One storey. Three windows to front.
Originally a two bay house, the right-hand bay serving as a smoke bay; clear evidence of smoke
blackening on the roof purlins and interior gable wall to loft. Extended by one timber-framed
bay to right probably in late C18 or early C19; bay to left end of brick and dating to the mid
to late Cl9. Central brick stack of C19; door to front wall on axis with stack now bricked up;
entrance now through right-hand bay. Studs to walls with trenched braces; wall plate dating to
original build. Clasped purlin roof over two centre bays.
