Two houses, now public house. C17, remodelled early C18 and early C19 with
some mid-C20 alterations. Timber-frame with rendered infill and painted brick,
under a slate and tile roof. L-plan, C18 limb to north, C19 to west with the
C17 house beyond. Brick stick to north-east corner of C18 cross-wing. Another
brick stack to west gable of C17 part. North front to left gabled wing with
band to ground floor. Two storeys, the upper window is a glazing bar sash
under a rubbed brick head with keystone. Ground floor has a 24-pane sash
under a similar head. The gable above has C15 or C16 carved bargeboards. C19
part of right has 3-light casement under a segmental head to each floor.
Entrance to left-hand corner has a six-panel door under a blind semi-circular
head. C17 part to right of two storeys with two 2-light C20 casements over
two 3-light casements. The entrance between has plain wooden architrave and
a ledged and boarded door. Framing: four square panels high with straight
angle braces. Gable-end truss has two struts to the collar. (RCHM, p 201,
