Late C17 inn with C19 street facade, L-plan. Linked to flat-roofed 2-storey range by
cartway to west. Two storeys. Local brick rendered with imitation masonry joints.
Steeply pitched slate roof. Large C19 splayed bay window at first floor with 4 hung
sashes, flanked by 2 casement windows in moulded wooden frames. Two ground floor
windows, one a splayed bay with hung sashes. Rear wing with modern tiled roofs,
painted local brick, band between floors. Ridge stack with 3 square shafts or early
red brick, partly rebuilt. Two storey stair turret with hipped roof in angle of
2 ranges. Three hung sash windows with glazing bars and C19 splayed bay.
