Public house. Probably late C17 to C18 with later alterations. Timber-
frame with brick and plaster infill, refronted in brick. Hipped Welsh
slate roof and brick stacks. Rectangular plan with main road front to
south-west. Two storeys. South-west elevation has two windows, early
C19, two-light casements in cambered heads. Mid-C20 raking top dormer
to right-hand side. Ground floor has a pair of early C20 canted bay windows
with small glazing bars and hipped roofs. To left and right of bay windows
are two ledged doors both with flat canopies. The right-hand doorway has a
segmental head. Attached to right-hand side is lean-to with curved front
wall. Interior has heavy ground floor ceiling beams. Stone fireplace to
principal front room has chamfered jambs. (RCHM, Vol II, p 48).
