Pair of estate cottages. Early C19. Coursed squared and dressed
limestone. Concrete tile roof. Ashlar stacks set on plinths.
Two stacks restored C20. Rectangular plan with later lean-tos at
rear. Symmetrical facades to each cottage. 1 1/2 storeys. Four
half dormers to first floor with stone-mullioned casements. Four
2-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to ground
floor. C20 part-glazed door to No 47, C20 plank door with
fillets to No 48. Flat stone canopies supported on moulded
brackets over doors. Gable-end and axial stacks. Flat coping at
gable ends and to dormers. Moulded kneelers. Interiors not
inspected. Coursed squared and dressed limestone wall 2-3.5m in
height at right angles to gable ends linking No 47 to No 46 and No
48 to No 49. (No 48, property of the National Trust).
