House. Late 16th/early 17th century. Much restored. Walls pebbledash
rendered on plinth; steeply pitched roof of plain tiles, some 20th century
machine-made replacements, and pantiles. Two storeys and attics. Main range
on north-south axis with two gabled cross-wings to east. Windows generally
3-light casements with transoms and leaded glazing. Window heads with square
drip moulds or plain-tiled hoods to represent pediments. Large off-centre
chimney stack on ridge line with four linked octagonal shafts on moulded brick
bases. Twin-shaft external stack with similar detailing on gable of southern
cross wing. Moulded terracotta finials to gables. Canted bay window with
pierced parapet in south wall. Two old entrance doors in west wall; one in
projecting porch with parapeted gable; pedimented doorway with Doric pilasters.
Later extensions to north end. Interior not inspected; said by owner to
have panelled room.
