Obelisk. Erected 1761 by Edmund Morton Pleydell. Brick structure with ashlar
dressings. Rectangular plinth with stone quoins and moulded capping. Tapering
square shaft with splayed stone cap with bowl finial. Stone on plinth inscribed
EMP 1761. Sited in the centre of Weatherby Castle, a scheduled Ancient Monument -
M91, but apparently not covered by the scheduling - (HBMC). RCHM Monument 2.
