Detached house, now 2 houses. c1815, for Harris and Maclean. Flemish bond red brick; ashlar limestone dressings; brick chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Two-storey with attic and cellar; 2- storey addition to west of main block. Attached boundary wall runs south from front elevation. Front: 3-window fenestration to main block; outer 16-pane sashes, 12-pane above central doorway with moulded double doors, all with gauged brick arches. Ironwork porch with hipped roof. Chamfered alternating quoins; upper floor plain ashlar band; plain ashlar eaves band; brick gable end chimneys. Part to left has single-window sash fenestration with timber lintels, 16-pane to ground floor, 12-pane above. Gable ends have plain band continued from eaves, broken by 2 attic sashes on west end and single attic sash to east, all with gauged brick arches. Rear: ashlar below upper floor band. Central 2-storey lean-to outshut with 2-window 12-pane sash fenestration, voussoir lintels in upper floor brickwork. Doorway in east side of outshut with 6- panel moulded door in reeded frame and glazed screen (now with C20 obscured glass); 12-pane sash with voussoir lintel over. Interior not inspected. Boundary wall is continuous with side walls of No 1, The Limes and Stanley Lodge (q.v.); plain stone coping to brickwork is swept up at each end to become upper floor banding. Wall is contemporary with adjacent buildings and is included to complete frontage to road.
