Milestone, dated 1831, by J.T. Patience, architect. Cast iron column of two
stages on gault brick and limestone base; conical cast iron roof concealed
by castellated parapet. Octagonal on plan. Each face of column has two tall
recessed Gothick panels with cusped and crocketted gables. Applied lettering
mostly lost at time of survey, but the north-east face has the letters
RAVENINGHAM and on the NNW face 4½.
