C17/C18. Timberframed 2 storey house with steep old red tile gabled roof
parallel with road. Later C18,2 storey rear wing at W, weatherboarded
under hipped old red tile roof. E gable part weatherboarded part plastered
over brick plinth. W flank plastered. Large red brick external gable
chimney to E. Smaller external gable chimney to W. Symmetrical weather-
boarded front. 2 windows to each floor. C18 flush box sashes with moulded
architraves and small drip board to lower windows. C19 replacement sashes
with 3/3 panes above and 6/6 panes below. Central plank door with narrow
architrave, plain reveal and small drip board over. Sun fire mark central
over door (No 425573) not present in photographs of 1973. Interesting
medium sized house. Part of picturesque group on S side of road stepping
down the hill.
