Royal Arms of George III on panel. On the shield top left, the 3 gold Lions passant of England are fading into their red background. The red on gold Lion rampant of Scotland is next, if slightly dark from red absorbing gold, then the 3 gold Fleurs-de-lys of France, which have picked up some blue background. Below left, the lady on the Harp of Ireland has been repainted lifelike (-proper- in blazonry) instead of the usual gold with silver strings. To the right, the 2 Lions passant of Brunswick are also fading into red. The blue Lion rampant of Luneburg is dark from absorbing gold colour from its background (in successive repaintings). The red hearts spotted about this background are often the first feature to be missed on repainting. The silver (white) Horse of Westphalia is clear enough, but the badge in the middle of this group of three, a small red shield with the gold Crown of Hanover, suffers from red engulfing gold again.
