11/76 No 9 and wall to west

GV II

House. Late C18, altered early C20. Painted brick, Flemish bond, painted moulded ashlar cornice, slate roof, coped
verges, brick stacks gable ends. Plan: double pile. Two storeys, 3 bays; 16-pane sash windows with inserted early C20
flat-roofed canted bay window with dentil moulded cornice to left of central entrance, early C19 6-panel door, moulded
panels, lozenge and diamond panel architrave, lead roofed pentice porch carried on console brackets; long left return
including 16-pane sash window with thick glazing bars. Interior: stone flagged central through passage, front rooms on
either side painted and varnished to imitate wood - a complete redecoration of c1900 and a rare survival. Early C19
stick stair. Boundary wall to west, painted brick on random rubble base about 2 m in length, chamfered saddle back
brick coping, swan neck, ball finial; gate not included.
