SO 27 NW LLANFAIR WATERDINE C.P. LLANFAIR WATERDINE

Vicarage, now house. Probably C15 or C16, remodelled and extended in
the early C19. Timber framed of cruck construction, painted and rendered
coursed limestone rubble; slate roof. Probable former hall house of
at least 3 framed bays; later refacing and flanking additions with
Gothick detail. One storey and attic. C19 brick ridge stacks off-centre
to left and right, both with paired diamond shafts. Gabled front: 4
large central gables and 2 small gables to right, all with plain barge
boards. 7 windows; 2-light casements with Gothick lights and returned
hoodmoulds; 3 ground-floor square bays, outer pair with Gothick French
casements and inner one with C20 six-panelled door; lower left-hand
block with gable-lit attic. Interior: 4 full cruck trusses (Alcock
apex-type B).
