GV II

Road bridge over River Axe. Probably C18, extended and widened in l830. Ham stone ashlar. Three arches, the widest to
the north segmental-arched, the others semi-circular, with a cutwater on east side between the south and middle arches
only, the south arch virtually dry: parapets have chamfered plinths and chamfered top edges, with square piers at ends,
the north west end being angled slightly; parapets plain on riversides. The 1830 works executed by John Pavey at cost
of £210 (Bentley J.B and Murless B.J, Somerset Roads, SIAS, 1985).
