Barn. C17. Timber frame on red brick sill, dark weatherboarded and steep
half-hipped roof now gap-slated. A tall 3-bays barn at N of group of
farm buildings facing S into yard. Double doors in middle bay on S.
Heavy jowled posts, unjowled mid-bay posts, staggered mid-height rail,
straight tension braces, long curved braces to cambered tie-beams.
Clasped-purlin roof with one purlin to each slope carried on inclined
straight queen-posts with enlarged heads. Added long straight
wind-braces in the plane of the roof. Thin spars as if originally
thatched. Raised boarded threshing floor in W bay.
