House. Cl7. Timber frame on stucco sill roughcast but exposed
close studding in gable at E. Steep red tile roof. Plastered
central chimney. One and a half storeys, 2-cell, central-
chimney, lobby-entry plan house on roadside facing N.
Symmetrical 2 windows front with 2 gabled dormers of eaves and
central boarded door under small flat hood. Casement windows, 2-
light to dormers, 3-light to ground floor. Gabled stair turret
at rear in line with chimney. Interior has heavy crossbeam in W
half with large fireplace with inserted grate. E half has an
axial beam. Old doors with strap hinges. Winding stair and
exposed timbering on upper floor. Clasped-purlin roof
construction. Formerly the Old Red Lion PH.
