3/48 Colleton Mill Farmhouse

Small farmhouse. Probably late C17, extended at left end C18. Painted rendered stone
rubble and cob. Thatch roof, half-hipped at left end, gable end to right. Rendered
shaft to stone rubble stack at right end and brick stack to lateral stone rubble
stack with tapered cap and bread oven projection to rear left end.
Plan: probably originally a 2 room and central passage plan, with C18 extension of 1
room plan added at left end. Large single storey outshut to rear of right-hand room.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 3 window range. C19 fenestration principally intact. Original
range has virtually symmetrical arrangement with two 3-light casements on each floor,
6- and 8-panes per light, to each side of rustic C20 timber porch and late C19 9-
panelled door. Small leanto with thatched roof at right end. C18 extension at left
end has a large 3 light metal casement with horizontal tilting upper lights, 18 panes
per light above 3 light casement, 8 panes per light to right of rustic timber porch
with plank door. Leanto at left end.
Interior: largely altered in C20 but some C19 joinery survives. Roof not inspected.
