Description


TL 4238 GT & LT CHISHILL HEYDON ROAD (North-west side) 24/21 No.1 (Rectory Farmhouse) GV II Farmhouse now a house. Early C18 with C19 alterations. Timber-framed and roughcast rendered with plain tiled roof double pile to north-west and hipped at angle to south-east. Ridge stack and two gable end stacks. Two storeys with attics. Main entrance facade remodelled in C19 with central Tuscan entrance porch. Three first floor twelve-paned flush-framed hung sash windows and two C20 twenty-paned ground floor hung sash windows replaciny two C19 three-light hung sash windows. Hipped dormer window to south-east elevation. Moulded wooden eaves cornice with flat dentils. Interior: two rear rooms with stop-chamfered ceiling beams and C19 chimney pieces. RCHM. Report 1949.
