Small farmhouse. C18 extended circa early C19. Painted granite rubble and cob
walls, slate sills. Steep corrugated iron roof (formerly thatched) over original
part (left) and slurried scantle slate roof of shallower pitch, right. Brick
chimneys over the gable ends.
Plan: originally a 1-room plan with fireplace at the left hand gable end and entrance
vestibule and stair, right. In circa the early C19, extended on the right hand side
with a 1-room plan (probably parlour) addition heated by a gable end fireplace.
Later C19 lean-tos at rear.
2 storeys. Overall irregular 3 window south front with the eaves level stepping down
on the right. The original 2 window front, left, on higher ground with doorway on
the right hand side. Circa early C20 top-glazed door within C20 lean-to porch. The
window openings are irregularly disposed and positioned towards the right. The first
floor second from left (middle of the whole front) window is a C19 6-pane 3-light
horizontal sliding sash, the left-hand light sliding. The other windows are circa
late C19 or C20 4-pane horned sashes, all in original openings. The 1 window front
addition, right has irregularly disposed openings at lower level than the original
part.
Interior not inspected.
A rare C18 1-room plan house with modest C19 extension and hardly altered since then.
