Kingsand

GV II

House. Circa 1750 with C19 and C20 alterations. Rubble, brick fronted, asbestos
slate roof with gable end stack to left.
Double depth plan with one front room to left, entrance hall to right and stair well to rear left; 2 storey service wing to rear right, at cellar and ground floor level.
3 storeys and one window, all C20 sashes, 10-panelled door to right with hood on
scrolled brackets with Vitruvian scroll cornice to hood. Cill bands at first and 2nd floors. Cobbled front area to house about 2 metres deep.
Interior: Entrance hall has segmental arch with pilasters, stair hall has dog-leg
stair with wreathed handrail and stick balusters, scroll-moulded string. Rear room at ground floor has coloured marble chimneypiece, cupboards to right and left with panelled lower doors, panelled shutters and soffit to window. First floor landing has cupboard with glazed doors, H hinges and fretwork cornice. At first floor, rear room has blocked fireplace with dentils below moulded mantel. At 2nd floor, rear room has 2-panelled door, fireplace with moulded mantel; front room has fireplace with dentils below moulded mantel and panelled cupboards to right and left.
