9/125 Atway Cottage

House. Circa early C18 extended in later C18. Rendered and painted stone rubble and
cob. Rag slate roof with gable end on left and half hipped end on right. Stone
rubble axial stack.
Plan: Originally probably a 1-room plan cottage heated by end stack. Extended with
second room in circa later C18, the extension heated by a fireplace backing onto the
earlier fireplace in the end stack. C19 outshut added across front of right hand
room.
Exterior: Two storeys. Entrance to left of centre with segmental arched opening
with plank door. 3-light casement on ground floor to far left and 2-light casement
directly above. Lean-to outshut to right. Rear elevation has two C19 casements.
Interior: not inspected.
