Base of rock-crusher and ore bin to former tin mine, now derelict. Late 1890's,
for South Frances United Mine. Large granite rubble facing to solid core.
Rectangular plan on north-south axis. High structure with sloped west side,
stepped east side with an inverted V-shaped hollow. History: built to receive ore
carried from headgear of shaft by elevated railway, the crushed ore stored in
hoppers before carriage to West Basset stamps at Carnkie (q.v.). Reference:

Part of a very impressive group of remains of one of the best equipped mines in
Cornwall, closed in 1918.
