Bradwell Abbey House

A Grade II Listed Building in Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes

Bradwell Abbey Farmhouse

Uploader's Comments

Bradwell Abbey Farmhouse is situated on the site of a medieval Benedictine priory. The priory fell into decay and was closed in 1524. The farmhouse includes parts of the Prior's House, the warming room and the Low Parlour. In 1643, Thomas Longueville, the landlord of Bradwell Abbey, was arrested and fined for supporting the king. In 1662 Sir Joseph Alston purchased the site. He enlarged the farmhouse to make a grand manor house, and added an elm avenue.
