House. Late C16, part rebuilt C18, now forming a cross wing
to a mid-late C18 range, with C17 staircase projection in rear
angle, and c. 1939 extensions to right. C16 building has timber
frame with thin brick infill in rear gable, the left side and
front rebuilt in red and vitreous brick. Staircase projection is
also timber-framed with thin brick infill. C18 range to right is of
brown brick with red brick dressings, partly gauged first floor band
course, and flint plinth. Extensions in matching brick. Hipped old
tile roof, brick chimneys between left bays and to right of C18 range,
the left chimney with thin brick base. L-plan. 2 storeys, 3 older bays.
Irregular C20 leaded casements in altered openings, the centre bay
having a C20 door with flat wooden hood. Interior: C16 wing has
ovolo moulded cross beams and upper fireplace with depressed arch of
chamfered brick. Original right wall of this wing has some close-
studding and an original 9-panelled door in stop-chamfered doorframe.
Winder staircase, the newel with carved square finial.
