Description

MARAZION NORTH STREET, Marazion
SW 5130

4/26 Cromer

GV II

House. Probably C17. Pebbledash to front, probably rubble. Steep scantle slate
roof with original gable ends adjoining taller building on either side. Original
dressed granite stack, right, with tall brick shaft over. Cast-iron ogee gutter.
Plan: 2 rooms with cross or through passage between.
Exterior : 2 storeys. Slightly asymmetrical 3 window south front with doorway left
of middle. C20 6 panel top-glazed door. Circa late C19 or C20 horned sashes. Ground
floor windows are canted bays with moulded cornices and shallow hipped lead roofs. 2
light plus sidelights, left, and single light plus sidelights right.
Interior not inspected.
This building is much lower than the row of C18 houses on the right and this shows
that there was a dramatic change of scale from circa late C17 to circa early C18.
