Farmhouse and attached range on rear. Mid C19 for Brancepeth Estate. Squared
sandstone in narrow courses with ashlar dressings. Welsh slate roof and
dressed stone chimney stacks. Tudor style. Narrow 2-storey centre bay
flanked by slightly-projecting, cross-gabled bays of 2 storeys plus attics.
Chamfered plinth, flush quoins and string between storeys. Central replaced
door and 2-pane overlight, in moulded pointed doorway, behind C20 glazed
porch. Stone-mullioned windows under hoodmoulds, each light with 4-centred
head and 4- and 8-pane sash: 3-light with wider centre light on ground floor;
2-light above. Small quartrefoils in gables. Steeply-pitched roofs with
coped gables. Deep returns with similar fenestration towards rear and central
transverse chimneys with 3 conjoined square-plan stacks. Single-storey,
L-plan outbuilding on left rear, with boarded doors and a hipped roof, is
included for group value.
