The Lodge at one time housed the servants for the Rectory. My great-grandfather, Robert Chiffince lived there from around 1873 to 1886 and was Butler to Lord Wriothesley Russell (11-May-1804 to 6-April-1886) who was the son of the 6th Duke of Bedford (Chenies Manor and Woburn Abbey), rector of St. Michael's Chenies for 57 years from 1829 until his death in 1886 and also Canon-Residentiary of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
