3/109 Tregoning Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, circa early C18, rubble stone with cob near eaves on rear. Granite
quoins. Steeply pitched slate roof with brick stacks at gable ends. L-shaped plan
with projecting wing to rear. Cross passage blocked to rear. 2 storeys,
symmetrical, 3-window front. Central wide partly glazed door with dressed stone
voussoirs above. Flanked by 16-pane sashes with three 16-pane sashes above. Rear
wing with brick dressed arches over groundfloor windows and slightly lower roof
with gable end. Rubble walls enclosing garden to west. Site of Cistercian Priory
(monks from Abbey of Beaulieu). Narrow window with granite surround in south wall.
Remains of tracery from Priory now in St Keverne Church. Interior not inspected.
