Hotel, with attached stable. Early C19 with few later alterations. Stone rubble,
rendered and lined out. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, with deep eaves.
Gable end stacks with rendered shafts. Stable in painted rubble with slate roof with
gable ends.
Plan: Large double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front
right and left, each heated from a gable end stack. Rear service rooms. The stable
is set back at the right side and built into the bank at the rear.
Exterior: 3 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front. Ground floor has central C20 door ;
3 plate-glass sashes to right and left of C19, the central sashes larger. First
floor has two C19 8-pane sashes with margin glazing and central French window with
margin glazing and blind box ; balcony with cast iron railings across the whole
front, and moulded fascia board across the whole front above the first floor windows.
At second floor there are 3 smaller 8-pane sashes with margin glazing.
Set back to right is the 2-storey stable, of 4 bays, with wide sliding double doors,
single door with strap hinges and C20 2-light casement with cambered brick arch.
First floor has 4 windows, all C19 12-pane sashes with cambered brick arches, the
second from right blind.
Interior: Not inspected.
