NY 33 NE CALDBECK High Row

14/99 Former farmhouse west
of Townend

II

Farmhouse now farm storeroom. Dated and inscribed over entrance I & (?) B 1797
with reused dated and inscribed door surround JRA 1735. Coursed squared mixed
metamorphic rubble and limestone with eaves cornice and flush quoins. Graduated
greenslate roof, hipped to left, with brick and stone chimney stacks. 2
storeys, 2 bays. Gabled porch has reused door surround with triangular
datestone above. Inner plank door in painted stone surround. Sash windows with
glazing bars, those on ground floor double sashes, all in limestone surrounds.
Projecting byre to left is not of interest.
