Here lyes expectinge y second comeinge of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ ye dead body of ye Lady Anne Clifford, daur. & sole heire to George Clifford, 3d Earl of Cumberland by his blessed wife Margarett Russell, Countesse of Cumberland wch Lady Anne was borne in Skipton Castle in Craven ye 30th January (beinge Fryday) in ye yeare 1590, as ye yeare begins on New Yeares day & by a longe continued discente from her father & her noble auncestors, she was Barronesse Clifford, Westmerland & Vescy, High Sheriffesse of ye County of Westmerland & Lady of ye Honor of Skipton in Craven aforesaid She married for her first husband Richard Sackvile, Earl of Dorsett, & for her second husband Phillipp Herberte, Earle of Pembrooke & Mountgomery, leaveinge behind her onely 2 daurs. that lived wch she had by her firste husband, the eldest Margarett Countesse of Thannett & the younger Isabella Countesse of Northampton, which lady Anne Clifford, Countess Dowager of Pembrooke, Dorsett & Mountgomery deceased at her castle of Brougham ye 22nd day of March in ye yeare of our Lord 1675. Christianly, willingly & quietly havinge before her death seene a plentifull issue by her two daughters of 13 grandchildren & her body lyes buryed in this vaulte
