House. Circa 1815. (Bedfordshire Record Office: R5/1325 and R1/55, Russell
accounts and map). Red brick on ironstone plinth with hipped slate roof.
2-storeyed, double-pile plan house, with L-plan single-storeyed service wings
projecting from both sides. S elevation: ground floor has 2 canted bays with
hipped slate roofs, and horizontal sashes with glazing bars. First floor has
4 sashes with glazing bars. Red brick central ridge stack. Deep wood
panelled eaves. Entrance is via RH wing, adjacent to junction with main
block. 6-moulded panel door under flat-roofed timber porch with segmental
arches. Service wings have casement windows with glazing bars. RH wing has
C20 canted bay window.
