Description

SJ 55 SE FADDILEY C.P. WOODHEY

4/40 Walled enclosure south
of Woodhey Chapel

GV II

Wall surrounding a garden of the former Woodhey Hall, early C17, red
brick in English Garden Wall Bond with stone dressing. Stone plinth,
small bricks wide jointed. Some flush stone dressings to changes in
direction in the wall and one and two course moulded stone coping.
Some curved ramps in the coping at variations in the height of the
wall. The wall was obviously closely associated with the garden
loggia which is part of the garden wall and later became part of the
Woodhey Chapel.(q.v.)
