Country house, now training college. 1832 by Sir J. Wyattville. Bath
stone ashlar with slate roof and lead dormer over south bow. Rectangular
plan. 2 storeys, plinth, band at first floor,moulded cornice and parapet,
chimneys flanking central portion of block. South Elevation: Central
semi-circular bow rising full height of the building with three glazing
bar sashes, flanked by one glazing bar sash to either side, all sashes
have moulded architraves and panelled aprons. North Elevation: 3 glazing
bar sashes, central recessed entrance with projecting semi-circular tuscan
portico with coupled columns and entablature, approached by three stone
steps. The wall under the portico is rusticated with contrasting coloured
stone used for imposts and panels below windows. Interior: stone cantilever
stair to right off entrance hall, balustrade of decorated Adam-style
openwork panels. The building is flanked by C20 extensions (not listed)
