SOWERBY BRIDGE SOWERBY LANE SE 0224 & SE 0324 (east side), 8/229 Luddenden Foot Barn approx 10 metres to north-west of Raw End Farmhouse GV II Barn with cottage, now all one. C18. Stone brought to course, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Left bay, former cottage, has outshut, now with garage doors, with doorway in right return. Round-arched cart-entry to barn has quoins, voussoirs and springer on left. Mistal door on far right has plain stone surround. Interior: cottage bay has chamfered stone fireplace with deep lintel. Barn has 3 queen-post trusses with angle braces; mortices in soffit of left tie-beam indicate positive of former partition wall. Included for group value.
